OPAC services

Orchard Management and Services

The OPAC field team currently manages more than 400 hectares of kiwifruit on behalf of their owners.  Having OPAC ‘hands on’ means orchard owners can be ‘hands off’, giving owners time to focus on doing other things.

OPAC’s orchard managers are horticultural professionals with decades of experience and a commitment to maximising volumes of export quality fruit.  OPAC’s orchard managers are supported by an experienced team of field staff that ensures current best practice is applied in every situation.

If full orchard management is not what you need, but you would like some help with some aspects of the day-to-day running of your orchards, we can help.

Pack with OPAC

OPAC owns a state-of-the-art 5 hectare packing and coolstorage facility capable of handling over 4 million class 1 trays per season. We systematically apply the OPAC process on all fruit through harvest, packing and storage, to maximise class 1 export volumes for our growers.

OPAC repacking volumes are lower than national industry benchmarks and we aim for less than 1% fruit loss by variety. We achieve this by storing the right fruit for the right time and in the right way, and by matching fruit attributes with Zespri's export customer requirements. Doing each step in the process right is key to achieving the best returns for the grower.
